A letter from OSUAA Director of Alumni Engagement Craig Little

Alumni Group Leaders,

The Alumni Association and your partners within Ohio State want to reaffirm our commitment to you. We are with you while our communities stand up and protest against injustice in our world. All of you who are participating in these important demonstrations, please stay safe.

As we work together to engage fellow Buckeyes, we have been tested in so many ways the last few months. I urge you to continue to take care of yourselves and others.

The past week’s events are deeply distressing. The anger exhibited and felt across the country due to the deaths of individuals including George Floyd, Ahmaud Arbery and Breonna Taylor is righteous and recognized. These tragedies renew our focus on issues in our country that are far too common. I hope this time can lead all of us to awareness that brings increased understanding and fairness to all.

As Molly Ranz Calhoun shared, we must live up to our values in everything we do. We will build on this opportunity to promote equity and inclusiveness in our groups, and embrace the great diversity of our alumni. As Buckeyes, we are givers and compassionate. Our community will work together to make effective changes.

I truly appreciate your time devoted to keeping Buckeye Nation connected and thriving. We look forward to supporting your group in creating welcoming experiences that involve and include everyone in the Buckeye community.

We will move forward and build that brighter future for us all.

Sincerely,

Craig Little ’84
